What a UAE will or power of attorney costs
There is no single UAE figure, and a page giving you one number may be merging two different things. A transaction can have an authority fee, set and collected by the registry, court or department, and separately a professional fee charged by whoever prepares the document. This page collects only the first kind: what each authority publishes, in its own words, with the date we last checked it — including at-a-glance tables for POA authority fees, will registration fees, and what the foreign side charges when the document crosses a border. Where an authority publishes nothing, this page says so instead of filling the gap. Nothing here is averaged into one national UAE POA or will price.

Two fees, and they should never reach you as one number
The authority fee is not negotiable and is not anybody's margin. DIFC Courts sets what it charges to register a will; the Rental Disputes Center sets what it charges to open a case. Those figures are published, they change without notice, and they are paid to that body.
The professional fee is what a firm or a service charges to prepare, check and coordinate the document. It is a separate decision, and it is the only part anybody can compete on.
Merging the two is the single most common way UAE fee pages mislead. A quoted “all-in” price hides which half you could have reduced, and it makes a provider look expensive or cheap for reasons that have nothing to do with the provider. Nothing on this page is a Deedbox price. Ours are published on each service page, always beside the authority figure and never added to it.
POA authority fees at a glance
These rows are different events at different authorities. Do not average them into one UAE power-of-attorney price. A ratification charge is not a case-registration charge; a title-deed transaction fee is not a POA fee; an ownership-change fee is not a document-notarisation fee.

DIFC Courts publishes a fee for each of six will types
This is the clearest published schedule of the three UAE wills routes, and the spread inside it is wide: the broadest will costs twice the narrowest. A Mirror pair, meaning two wills of the same type registered together for a couple, is published alongside each single figure and is never simply double.

Registering a DIFC will is not the last fee
Three further figures are published and they are the ones people budget for least. A modification is made by signing a new will at “AED 550 per Will”. A cancellation fee of “AED 1,000 per Will is non-refundable”. And after a death, a Grant of Probate is published at “USD 1,500” - in dollars, where the registration fees are in dirhams, which is the registry’s own choice and not a conversion.
Per Will is the phrase to notice. A couple who register a Mirror pair and later change the same provision in both documents pay the modification fee twice. A Mirror pair is cheaper to register than two separate wills and no cheaper to amend.

Dubai Courts publishes a POA ratification fee
Dubai Courts’ Power of Attorneys Ratification service publishes AED 100 per party to the power of attorney, plus AED 20 in Knowledge and Innovation fees. It also names the title deed among the uploads for a property POA.
That is a ratification charge, not a universal price for every Dubai power of attorney. It is separate from the professional fee for preparing the instrument and from any fee charged later by DLD, a court or another receiving authority.

The Rental Disputes Center charges a percentage, not a price
RDC publishes a fee for registering a power of attorney against a rental case, which is a different event from Dubai Courts ratification: “AED 25 Registration of Power of Attorney (if applicable)”. Its FAQ confirms the same figure in answer to the question directly.
The case fee itself is a percentage with a floor and a ceiling, so the only honest way to state it is as a calculation.

Dubai Land Department: named fees, and one that is free
For a title transfer, DLD publishes AED 250 per title deed, map fees of AED 100 to AED 250 depending on the property, and AED 10 knowledge and AED 10 innovation fees per drawing.
The one worth knowing in advance is the one that costs nothing. DLD publishes cancellation of a power of attorney as a free service, carried out in person. If you have granted a property power of attorney and want it to stop, the fee is not the obstacle - attending is.
Ras Al Khaimah publishes the one flat POA price in the country
Every Dubai and Abu Dhabi figure above is a charge for an event: ratifying an instrument, registering it against a case, holding it for a number of years. Ras Al Khaimah is the exception. RAK Courts prices the document itself, and it prices it in two lines: “General Power of Attorney: AED 200 / Special Power of Attorney: AED 100”, delivered by its Public Notary with a published service time of “15 Minutes”.
That is worth stating plainly because it inverts the assumption most people arrive with. A general power of attorney is the broader instrument, and in RAK it is the one that costs more — twice the special. Elsewhere in the country the fee does not track scope at all: Dubai Courts charges per party regardless of how wide the authority is, and Abu Dhabi charges per year of validity regardless of what the document does.
RAK also publishes an online channel for the same service — “submit a request to the notary public in RAK Courts ... pay the fees and check for the request status online” — and, for documents coming from outside the country, states that they “must be duly attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE, and the translation of thereof attested from the Ministry of Justice if they are in a foreign language”. What RAK Courts does not publish is who has to attend, or how long the power lasts. Those gaps are set out in the Ras Al Khaimah guide.
Ajman prices a different thing again. Its Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation charges on the property transaction, not on the document: “For citizens and citizens of the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council: 2% or AED2,500 as a minimum, and for non-citizens 3% or AED3,000 as a minimum”, with named proxy categories among the fee types. Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah publish no POA or will fee that we have been able to read; what each of them does publish is in the Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah guide.

DEWA: deposits and connection charges
Utility charges are not document fees, but they are the numbers people are usually trying to plan around when they move, and DEWA publishes them plainly.

Abu Dhabi publishes a formula rather than a figure
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s Guidance Manual — Notarisation & Attestation Services (July 2023) sets out a fee formula for powers of attorney rather than a flat price, calculated against the period of validity, alongside twelve named power-of-attorney services.
The published formula numbers in that manual are: “AED 100 for each year of the POA validity”, plus “AED 500 if the signature authorisation is to be added”. Marriage and Divorce POAs list only the per-year fee. These are ADJD’s published guidance of July 2023 — not “today’s fee” — and must be re-checked against a newer ADJD publication before you treat them as current.
Illustrative of the formula only (not a quote for your case): a 3-year general POA at the published formula = 3 × AED 100 = AED 300, and AED 800 if signature authorisation is added. That arithmetic follows the July 2023 wording; it is not a confirmation of what you will be charged on the day.
It also publishes the cap that most UAE pages quote without saying whose it is: “The maximum period for the POA validity is 3 calendar years after the date of notarisation”, extended for the Litigation POA to “5 years for lawyers”. That is Abu Dhabi’s published rule for Abu Dhabi notarisation. It is not a UAE-wide rule, and we have found no equivalent published cap for Dubai.
One caveat we will not bury: that manual is dated July 2023. Every figure in it should be treated as ADJD’s published guidance of that date and re-checked before you rely on it.

When the document crosses a border, a second authority charges too
Everything above is the UAE side. If you are signing abroad for use here, or signing here for use abroad, there is a second government in the chain and it publishes its own fee. That fee is the one people discover last and budget for never, and it is often the smaller of the two — which is precisely why nobody mentions it until you are at the counter.
The rows below are each quoted from the authority that charges them. They are stages in different chains, not alternatives to each other, and they cannot be added to a UAE figure to produce a total: the stages that sit between them are frequently unpriced.

What nobody publishes
Some of the figures a reader most wants are not published in the authority material we have read, and filling them by inference from a neighbouring emirate would make everything above less reliable rather than more useful.
What ADJD means by “special will registering” at AED 2,500 — the Civil Family Court page publishes the figure without defining the tier (S-40).
The Dubai Courts non-Muslim will registration fee. The official result confirms the service, but the page retrieved in our review did not expose populated eligibility, document, procedure or fee fields. That will-specific gap must not be confused with the POA ratification service and fee published above.
Any DEWA fee for a representative. DEWA publishes no power-of-attorney requirement on its current service pages at all, so there is no fee to publish.
If you see one of these figures quoted confidently elsewhere, ask where it came from. That is the test we apply to ourselves before anything reaches this site.
Questions
What does a will cost in the UAE?
It depends entirely on the registry. DIFC Courts publishes AED 5,000 to AED 10,000 for a single will depending on type, and AED 7,500 to AED 15,000 for a Mirror pair. ADJD’s Civil Family Court page publishes AED 950 regular and AED 2,500 special will registration. The retrieved Dubai Courts material did not expose a will-registration fee. Any figure presented as “the UAE will fee” needs to identify its registry and separate the provider’s fee.
Why does nobody quote one price for a power of attorney?
Because the authorities do not price the same event. Dubai Courts publishes AED 100 per party plus AED 20 to ratify one. Abu Dhabi publishes a formula based on validity. The Rental Disputes Center publishes AED 25 to register one against a case, while Dubai Land Department charges nothing to cancel one. Those are different services, not figures that can be averaged into one national price.
Can I compare POA fees across emirates in one number?
No. The glance table on this page is for scanning different published events, not for producing an average. Ratification, case registration, cancellation, title-transfer charges, Abu Dhabi notarisation and RTA ownership-change fees are different transactions. Averaging them invents a UAE POA price that no authority publishes.
What does ADJD charge for notarising a POA?

Which emirate is cheapest for a power of attorney?
That question has no clean answer, because the emirates do not charge for the same thing. RAK Courts is the only one that prices the document flat — AED 200 for a general power of attorney and AED 100 for a special one. Dubai Courts charges AED 100 per party plus AED 20, so the cost moves with how many people sign, not with how broad the authority is. Abu Dhabi charges per year of validity. And none of that decides anything on its own: the emirate that will accept your document is decided by where the asset and the receiving authority are, not by the fee.
What does RAK Courts charge for a power of attorney?

Does the foreign side charge a fee as well?
Usually, yes, and it is the fee people forget. The UK’s FCDO publishes £45 for a paper apostille and £35 for an e-Apostille. Germany’s BfAA publishes EUR 22.00 per final certification. Jordan’s foreign ministry publishes JOD 10. Going the other way, the Pakistan mission in the UAE publishes AED 40 for a power of attorney, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai AED 100 for a special power of attorney, and the Egyptian Consulate AED 180 ordinary or AED 480 commercial. Those belong to different chains and cannot be added together.
How current are these figures?
Each section carries the date we last checked that authority’s own page, and the foot of this page carries the date of the last full re-read. The UAE figures were checked in September 2026; the Abu Dhabi manual is itself dated July 2023 and is labelled as such rather than presented as current. Authorities change fees without notice and without announcing it, so the authority’s own page is always the version that counts on the day you transact.
