ADJD’s Civil Family Court publishes how a Civil Will is registered: submit the application and will to the Civil Wills Section, then attend an online notary appointment after approval. Registry fees are published at AED 950 (regular) and AED 2,500 (special).

A will registered through Abu Dhabi’s Civil Wills route. ADJD publishes a bilingual standardised template, an online application and online notary path into the Will registry, and two registry fee amounts — and still leaves witness, language and what “special” means unpublished.

The registration path ADJD publishes
The Civil Family Court page states that for a Civil Will "to be recognised as legally valid, it must be ‘registered’" by "submitting the relevant application and a copy of the Will to the ADJD Civil Wills Section".
ADJD’s Civil Marriage Law Q&A (First Edition 2023) adds the operational middle: the person making the will (or their legal representative) submits through the ADJD website; the application is reviewed; when approved, an appointment is set for the person making the will to attend online before the notary; the notarised will is then registered in the Will registry.

Bilingual template and forms
ADJD states that "Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court has prepared a standardised Will template in both English and Arabic". Its forms cluster also publishes Last Will and Testament and Civil Will Revocation downloads, and points applicants to Interactive Case Registration (ICR).
Starting from the registry’s published shape is usually faster than fitting a finished document to it later. Our professional fee is for preparation and coordination; ADJD’s registry fees are separate.

ADJD publishes: "The fee for regular will register is 950 AED and for special will registering 2500 AED." Those amounts are paid to ADJD. The page does not define “special”, and we do not invent a definition.

What ADJD still does not publish
Fees are no longer the blank cell — witness rules, language requirements at the online notary appointment, executor eligibility, and what “special” covers still are. We leave those blank rather than borrowing DIFC or Dubai Courts conditions.

What does ADJD charge to register a will?
The Civil Family Court page publishes AED 950 for regular will registration and AED 2,500 for special will registration. It does not define “special”. Those are ADJD registry fees, separate from our professional fee.
Do I have to travel to Abu Dhabi to sign?
ADJD’s published Q&A states that after approval an appointment is set for the person making the will to attend online before the notary. We confirm the appointment mode ADJD offers for your application on the day you book.
How many witnesses does an ADJD will need?
The Civil Family Court wills FAQ we hold states no witness requirement. That is not the same as saying none applies — it means the authority has not published one on that page, and we will not infer it from DIFC rules.
Does the will have to be in Arabic?
ADJD publishes a standardised template in English and Arabic, but the Civil Family Court wills FAQ does not state a language rule for the online notary appointment. We draft in Arabic and English as our practice; that is not a quoted ADJD language condition.
Can a Muslim register an ADJD Civil Will?
ADJD states: "If you are not a UAE citizen, then, regardless of your religion, you may register a Will with Abu Dhabi Civil Wills Office." Whether that route is right for a particular estate is a legal question we do not answer.
How does ADJD compare with a DIFC Will?
They are different registries with separately published conditions. DIFC publishes six will types, per-type fees, English-language and two-witness rules. ADJD publishes a Civil Wills registration path, a bilingual template and registry fees of AED 950 / 2,500, and leaves witness and language unpublished.
