UAE Digital Power of Attorney: the official workflow and the checks around it

The UAE Ministry of Justice publishes an electronic route: sign in with UAE Pass, choose Digital Power of Attorney, submit the application, pay, sign through UAE Pass and receive the document electronically. Digital issuance does not make broad wording safe or guarantee that a bank, land department, company or court will accept the powers. Confirm the receiver and transaction first.

The Ministry’s published steps

The current service page lists registration with UAE Pass, electronic application, selection of Digital Power of Attorney, payment, UAE Pass signature and electronic delivery. It describes general and special powers of attorney among the deeds that may use the service.

Digital describes the channel, not the scope

A digital POA can still be too broad, too narrow or addressed to the wrong receiver. The Ministry has announced categories including legal cases, real estate, rental disputes, licensing, vehicles, stocks and company management. Select the real transaction rather than copying a general form.

Confirm the receiver before drafting

Ask the authority, bank, developer, trustee, free zone or company registrar for its current wording, identity and supporting-document requirements. Record the service name, reference link, contact and date. A notarial document proves an authenticated delegation; it does not force a separate organisation to accept every power.

Prepare identities and authority evidence

Have the principal and attorney details exactly as shown on current identity documents. For a company, identify who has authority to grant the POA and collect the licence, constitutional documents and resolutions the receiver requests. Do not upload more personal data than the official service requires.

Review before signing

Read every granted power, sub-delegation clause, duration, revocation term, asset identifier and conflict provision. Remove powers the transaction does not need. If the document affects litigation, valuable property, company control, borrowing or accounts, obtain qualified legal review.

Legal-review notice

The Deedbox does not guarantee notary or receiver acceptance. A digital POA should not be issued, changed or relied on until the current official workflow, wording and destination requirements have been checked.

Questions

Can I create a UAE POA online?

The UAE Ministry of Justice publishes a Digital Power of Attorney workflow using UAE Pass, online payment, electronic signature and electronic delivery, subject to its current eligibility and service conditions.

Is a digital POA accepted everywhere?

No universal acceptance is published. The receiving bank, authority, court, developer or company decides whether the scope and form fit its service.

How much does the MOJ service cost?

The service page displayed AED 100 when checked on 27 October 2026. Fees can change and other drafting, translation or receiver costs may apply, so verify the live page before payment.

What this page does not do

  • This is general legal information, not legal advice, a registry approval, a notarial acceptance decision or a prediction of a court outcome.
  • The receiving authority, bank, company, registry, notary or court decides what wording, form, identity evidence and supporting documents it will accept for the particular transaction.
  • Official procedures and fees can change. Follow the current authority page and obtain qualified legal review before signing, registering, revoking or relying on a document.

The Deedbox is a legal-document service. It is not a notary office and not a law firm. We prepare documents and coordinate notarisation, registration, attestation and legalisation through the appropriate licensed parties and authorities. Will registration is performed by the relevant authority — the DIFC Courts Wills Service, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Dubai Courts or the Notary Public; we prepare and coordinate, we do not register. Preparing or paying for a document does not mean it has been notarised, registered or accepted by any authority — those are separate steps, and we show you exactly where your case stands at each one. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
