Using a Nepalese Power of Attorney in the UAE and making a UAE Will remotely
If you are in Nepal and need another person to handle an asset or transaction in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, obtain the UAE receiver’s required powers before signing. Nepal’s Department of Consular Services lists वारेसनामा as Power of Attorney and अख्तियारनामा पत्र as authorization letters. The UAE Embassy in Kathmandu then publishes the route for a legal document such as a POA: sign before a local notary or legal authority in Nepal, obtain Nepal Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation, and use the UAE MOFA digital-attestation application with the original-document courier process. A UAE Will follows the chosen registry’s own rules and cannot be signed by an attorney under the POA.

The Nepal-to-UAE route at a glance
There are two separate decisions. The Nepal side proves the local execution and the signatures or seals in the authentication chain. The UAE receiver decides whether the wording, language, identity evidence and scope work for the actual property, vehicle, company, bank or court transaction. Completing the Embassy chain does not compel a UAE authority or private receiver to accept the document.

Use the Nepal government’s document names accurately
Nepal’s Department of Consular Services lists वारेसनामा as “Power of Attorney” in its current FAQ and separately lists अख्तियारनामा पत्र as “Authorization Letters”. Those labels are related in everyday searches but are not treated as one interchangeable document on this page. The draft should be named and scoped for what the UAE receiver actually requires.
The Department describes consular authentication as verifying documents for use abroad. Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs handbook also places attestation or authentication of powers of attorney and affidavits within consular work. These sources support the Nepal foreign-office gate; they do not publish a universal UAE POA template or prove that every Nepal-issued instrument will be accepted in the UAE.
For Will searches, इच्छापत्र is established Nepalese statutory vocabulary. वसीयत is also encountered in community search language, but neither word by itself establishes that a Nepal-made Will controls UAE assets. The UAE Embassy in Kathmandu publishes a POA-specific sequence
The Embassy’s current digital-attestation page says Nepal-issued documents must first be attested by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For legal documents such as powers of attorney, it adds a prior step: the document must be signed before a local notary or legal authority in Nepal and then attested by the Nepal Ministry. This is more specific than treating every personal document in the same way.
The applicant uses the UAE MOFA attestation service, selects the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal as the country of issue, completes the online application and payment, and follows the approved courier’s collection and return process. The Embassy expressly says the original physical document is required, even though the application and resulting UAE attestation are digital.
The Embassy accepts personal and commercial documents on this route except commercial invoices and certificates of origin, which use eDAS 2.0. It also states that a POA containing commercial content is a commercial document. A document issued outside Nepal must go through the UAE mission responsible for its country of issue rather than being routed through Kathmandu merely because the signer is there.
Choose the UAE receiver before the Nepal notarial appointment
A Dubai property sale, Abu Dhabi court filing, Sharjah vehicle transfer, RAK company change and Fujairah bank instruction do not use one generic POA. They may share the Nepal authentication chain, but the representative’s powers and the receiving authority are transaction-specific.
For real estate, identify the land authority, title, transaction, mortgage or developer involvement and whether receiving sale proceeds is required. For a vehicle, separate sale, transfer, export, registration and receipt-of-money powers. For a company, identify the licence, authority and corporate acts. For a bank, ask that bank for its form or wording before anything is signed in Nepal.
This page therefore covers Nepal → UAE once and routes the user to the relevant UAE service. Publishing separate Nepal-to-Dubai, Nepal-to-Sharjah, Nepal-to-RAK and Nepal-to-Fujairah copies would repeat the same foreign process and create weak doorway pages rather than useful local answers.

Can a person in Nepal make a UAE Will without travelling?
A Will—इच्छापत्र in Nepalese legal vocabulary—is a personal instrument that operates on death. A Power of Attorney operates while the principal is alive. An attorney cannot use the POA to make or sign the testator’s UAE Will.
DIFC Courts publishes that an eligible non-Muslim testator need not be a UAE resident and may register through a virtual appointment, with witnesses joining from anywhere. Abu Dhabi Judicial Department publishes a Civil Will route for a non-UAE citizen regardless of religion, using an English-Arabic template and online notarial attendance after review. Dubai Courts publishes a non-Muslim Will service, but its current conditions distinguish online attendance with a valid Emirates ID from passport-only personal appearance.
The correct route depends on eligibility, citizenship, religion where relevant, assets, children, language and attendance—not Nepalese nationality alone. Whether a Nepal Will affects UAE assets, or a UAE Will affects assets in Nepal, requires cross-border succession advice; this page does not promise that one automatically displaces the other.

Can someone in Nepal issue a new UAE POA online instead?
Sometimes. This is different from signing a वारेसनामा or अख्तियारनामा पत्र in Nepal and legalising that foreign document. The UAE Ministry of Justice publishes a Digital Power of Attorney service and says its remote route enables customers residing inside or outside the UAE to complete eligible POA transactions without visiting a notary public. Where the applicant, identity method, instrument and final receiver all qualify, the result is a new UAE-issued POA; there is no foreign-signed document to take through Nepal’s foreign ministry or a UAE mission.
That is not a universal passport-only shortcut. The federal MOJ service uses UAE Pass and specified templates. Dubai Courts currently states that online attestation requires a valid Emirates ID and that a concerned party relying only on a passport must appear in person; its workflow may assign no attendance, virtual attendance or personal attendance from the application data. ADJD’s published July 2023 guidance describes a remote meeting but lists an Emirates ID among the documents. The authority—not The Deedbox—decides eligibility and the attendance method.
Choose the transaction before the form. A Dubai property sale may require a property POA drafted for DLD, trustee-office, developer and mortgage steps. A Dubai vehicle sale or export may require a Vehicle/RTA POA and the representative may still have to attend an RTA centre. Banking, company or share transfers, court work, inheritance, property management and private handovers each need their own receiver-specific powers. “General POA” is not a promise that every bank, court, land department, free zone, traffic authority or developer will act on it.

- Confirm the exact receiver and transaction: DLD or a Dubai trustee office, RTA, ADJD, RAK Courts, federal MOJ, a local land department, bank, developer, free zone, company registry or court.

- Choose the UAE-issued digital route only after the live authority service accepts the applicant and required powers.

Can I give someone a POA in Nepal to sell my Dubai property?
A published Nepal-to-UAE attestation route exists, but first obtain the Dubai receiver’s exact powers and documents. Nepalese authentication and UAE Embassy attestation do not guarantee acceptance by DLD, a trustee office, developer, lender or bank.
What is Power of Attorney called in Nepali?

Can I register a DIFC Will while I am in Nepal?
DIFC Courts publishes that an eligible testator need not be UAE-resident and may use a virtual registration appointment, with witnesses joining from anywhere. Eligibility and asset coverage still require individual review.
Can my attorney sign my UAE Will for me?
No. The testator must make and execute the Will through the chosen registry’s process. A Power of Attorney cannot replace that personal act.
Can I avoid Nepal’s foreign ministry and the UAE embassy by making the POA online?
Only if the applicant and required instrument qualify for a UAE-issued digital or virtual notarial route. In that case there is no Nepal-issued document to legalise. If the UAE route requires an Emirates ID, UAE Pass credential, different template or personal attendance that the applicant cannot meet, the foreign signing and legalisation chain on this page still applies.
