Using an Egyptian Power of Attorney in the UAE and making a UAE Will remotely
A person in Egypt who needs someone to handle property, a vehicle, a company, a bank instruction or a court matter in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah should obtain the UAE receiver’s required powers before making the Egyptian توكيل. Egypt’s Foreign Ministry uses توكيل for a Power of Attorney and publishes that Egyptian instruments require Egyptian Foreign Ministry authentication. The UAE Embassy in Cairo then directs outside-UAE applicants through registration, application, fee payment and a mission visit for attestation. A UAE Will is a separate personal act under the chosen registry’s eligibility and attendance rules; an attorney cannot sign it for the testator.

The Egypt-to-UAE route at a glance
The Egyptian authentication chain establishes the signatures and seals on the document. It does not decide whether the exact powers, Arabic wording, identity evidence or document age satisfy the UAE receiver. The land department, court, bank, developer, vehicle authority or company remains free to apply its own transaction rules.

In Egyptian official usage, the operative search word is توكيل
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry names its official service “التوكيلات والإقرارات” and repeatedly uses توكيل for the instrument. Its published consular guidance distinguishes a special POA—توكيل خاص—from other forms and says the purpose affects what supporting evidence the mission may request. Egyptian searchers also use توكيل عام, توكيل رسمي عام and توكيل بيع, but the familiar name does not replace receiver-specific drafting.
The Foreign Ministry’s authentication page states that Egyptian instruments are authenticated by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before being presented to the relevant foreign mission. That supports the country-of-origin gate. It does not establish that an Egyptian domestic form contains every power a Dubai or other UAE receiver needs.
For succession searches, وصية is the normal Arabic word for a Will, while إعلام وراثة and حصر إرث concern heirship or succession procedures rather than the act of making a Will. This page keeps those intents separate instead of placing them into one keyword-stuffed service page.

The UAE Embassy in Cairo publishes an attendance route
The UAE Embassy in Cairo’s current FAQ gives the sequence for a document issued outside the UAE: registration, application, fee payment, an SMS confirming the successful application, and then a visit to the UAE mission for attestation. This is not the same as the original-document courier route published by some other UAE missions, so the country corridor must not copy another embassy’s procedure.
UAE MOFA’s central service says a document issued outside the UAE must first be attested by the foreign ministry of the issuing country and then by the UAE Embassy or Consulate there. It also explains that attestation certifies signatures and seals rather than approving the document’s content.
The applicant should use the live application result and the Cairo mission’s current instructions. This page does not promise an appointment slot, processing time or fixed fee because classification and mission operations can change.

Match the توكيل to Dubai, Sharjah, RAK, Fujairah or Abu Dhabi
A Dubai property transfer, Sharjah vehicle sale, RAK company change, Fujairah bank instruction and Abu Dhabi court matter do not use one interchangeable توكيل. They may share the Egypt authentication sequence, but the powers, asset details and receiving authority differ.
For property, identify the land authority, title, transaction, mortgage or developer involvement and whether the agent may receive money. For a vehicle, separate sale, transfer, export and receipt-of-money powers. For a company, identify the licence and corporate act. For a bank, obtain the bank’s wording before the Egyptian document is executed.
One substantial Egypt-to-UAE corridor can explain the shared foreign process and link each user to the actual UAE service. Repeating it as Egypt-to-Dubai, Egypt-to-Sharjah, Egypt-to-RAK and Egypt-to-Fujairah pages would create doorway copies rather than stronger local information.

Can an Egyptian owner make a UAE Will without travelling?
A Will—وصية—is a personal instrument that operates on death. A Power of Attorney—توكيل—operates while the principal is alive. The attorney cannot use a توكيل to make or sign the testator’s UAE Will.
DIFC Courts publishes a virtual-registration route for an eligible non-Muslim testator who need not be UAE-resident. Abu Dhabi Judicial Department publishes a Civil Will route for a non-UAE citizen regardless of religion, with an English-Arabic template and online notarial attendance after review. Dubai Courts publishes a non-Muslim Will service, but its current conditions distinguish online attendance with a valid Emirates ID from passport-only personal appearance.
The correct registry depends on eligibility, citizenship, religion where relevant, assets, children, language and attendance—not Egyptian nationality alone. Whether an Egyptian Will affects UAE assets, or a UAE Will affects assets in Egypt, is a cross-border succession question requiring qualified advice.

Can someone in Egypt issue a new UAE POA online instead?
Sometimes. This is different from signing a توكيل, توكيل خاص or توكيل رسمي عام in Egypt and legalising that foreign document. The UAE Ministry of Justice publishes a Digital Power of Attorney service and says its remote route enables customers residing inside or outside the UAE to complete eligible POA transactions without visiting a notary public. Where the applicant, identity method, instrument and final receiver all qualify, the result is a new UAE-issued POA; there is no foreign-signed document to take through Egypt’s foreign ministry or a UAE mission.
That is not a universal passport-only shortcut. The federal MOJ service uses UAE Pass and specified templates. Dubai Courts currently states that online attestation requires a valid Emirates ID and that a concerned party relying only on a passport must appear in person; its workflow may assign no attendance, virtual attendance or personal attendance from the application data. ADJD’s published July 2023 guidance describes a remote meeting but lists an Emirates ID among the documents. The authority—not The Deedbox—decides eligibility and the attendance method.
Choose the transaction before the form. A Dubai property sale may require a property POA drafted for DLD, trustee-office, developer and mortgage steps. A Dubai vehicle sale or export may require a Vehicle/RTA POA and the representative may still have to attend an RTA centre. Banking, company or share transfers, court work, inheritance, property management and private handovers each need their own receiver-specific powers. “General POA” is not a promise that every bank, court, land department, free zone, traffic authority or developer will act on it.

- Confirm the exact receiver and transaction: DLD or a Dubai trustee office, RTA, ADJD, RAK Courts, federal MOJ, a local land department, bank, developer, free zone, company registry or court.

- Choose the UAE-issued digital route only after the live authority service accepts the applicant and required powers.

Can I make a توكيل in Egypt to sell my Dubai property?
A published Egypt-to-UAE authentication route exists, but first obtain the Dubai receiver’s required powers and documents. Egyptian authentication and Embassy attestation do not guarantee DLD, trustee-office, developer, lender or bank acceptance.
What is Power of Attorney called in Egyptian Arabic?
Egyptian authorities use توكيل. Common task terms include توكيل خاص, توكيل عام and توكيل رسمي عام. The correct instrument depends on the UAE receiver and transaction, not the search label alone.
Does the UAE Embassy in Cairo use a courier-only process?
Its current FAQ instead lists an application sequence ending with a visit to the mission. Follow the live application and Cairo mission instruction rather than borrowing another embassy’s courier procedure.
Does attestation prove the توكيل will be accepted?
No. UAE MOFA describes attestation as authentication of signatures and seals. The receiver separately reviews scope, identity evidence, language, originals and transaction requirements.
Can I register a DIFC Will while I am in Egypt?
DIFC Courts publishes that an eligible testator need not be UAE-resident and may register virtually, with witnesses joining from anywhere. Eligibility and asset coverage still require individual review.
Can my attorney sign my UAE Will for me?
No. The testator must make and execute the Will through the registry’s process. A Power of Attorney cannot replace that personal act.
Can I avoid Egypt’s foreign ministry and the UAE embassy by making the POA online?
Only if the applicant and required instrument qualify for a UAE-issued digital or virtual notarial route. In that case there is no Egypt-issued document to legalise. If the UAE route requires an Emirates ID, UAE Pass credential, different template or personal attendance that the applicant cannot meet, the foreign signing and legalisation chain on this page still applies.
